This is a multi-functional blow molding machine suitable for production of cosmetic and medical bottles made in PET. PEN. PP and etc.w ith more than 3mm heavy wall thickness.
The 4 re-heating zones are disposed in parallel contributing to minimize the floor space.
Each heating box has its own control and it enables to ensure precise heating control for even a bottle with thick wall.
AII of the 4 re-heating zones are not necessarily required to be used in any cases.
Depending on output required. one or two zones usage might be good enough.
This gives high quality on a product. minimum floor space and superior total cost performance for small bottle production.

  • Full automatic production...... combination consist of an injection molding machine. traverse and this blow molding machine creates a full automatic production line.
  • Neck orientation .................... Neck orientation device can be equipped.
  • Cavity choice ........................ Either 2 cavities or 4 cavities can be chosen on the control panel.
  • Adjustment of output............ The output can be very flexible in between 120 and 960 bph with even 4 cavities.
  • Anti preform contraction ....... Anti preform contraction method can be considered in the heating zones.
  • Heavy wall and wide mouth ... A preform with 20mm wall thickness can be reheated precisely and with a 70mm wide mouth at maximum can be blown also.

Summary

FFB Series

This is a new model,Whichis the 4th generation for us.Preforms rotate continuously on the heating rotary truck bringing better efficiency and quality in bottles.
In case of FFB-4L preforms are fed through the rotary mechanism and sit on the blow cores firmly with their necks toppling down finally.
The both models utilize servo motors for the main mechanisms resulting in high speed and saving energy and introduce a screw to widen the blow core pitch right before the blow clamping process ensuring a smooth and precise pitch change.
The blow clamping has a unique seesaw type mechanism driven by a servo motor and it brings a very smooth clamping.
These new ideas could improve the output by 30% accordingly.

Appeal points:

  • Saving the floor space by 30%.
  • Existing blow cores for the existing BIO series can be interchangeable on the FFB series.
  • The blow cores return to the preform feed truck from the bottle eject station without toppling down by rotating 180 degrees with an index motor.
  • Almost all functions are driven by either servo of index motors.Servo motor driving can be selected as an option for the stretching station.
  • Air recycle system is introduced.Therefore low pressure air for operation is created through the system.
  • At the eject station,bottles stand on the belt conveyor bringing convenience on the subsequent bottle conveying process.

Model FTB2-5W (Electrical Drive)

FTB series were designed by Frontier, Japan and manufactured by Frontier Jonhuah Corp. in Taiwan, who is our subsidiary company. FTB2-5WFTB2-5W is specialized in wide mouth jar production and is using Japanese parts for the main components as well as FTB2-5L and FTB2-2L. In order to insert wide mouth proforms into carriers precisely, star wheel mechanism is introduced. The rotary type reheating zone with a small pitch can reheat preforms efficiently and the pitch is widen to 240mm at the blow station to blow 5liter bottles at the maximum. A new concept is put into the preform carrier to eliminate blowing load out of the blow mold and machine frame in blow molding. (Patent pending) We release a new FTB model, which is capable to blow 5 gallon bottles at the maximum.

2- Stage Stretch Blow Molding Machine

The BIO series of high quality stretch blow molding machines are commercialized by Frontier, Inc. which is a leading supplier of linear type stretch blow molding machines, in addition to the existing EFB series.

Features

  • The output is more than 1,200BPH / 1L / 1 cavity, which is an outstanding figure for a linear type machine.
  • Mold changeover is made simple by removing a set of the molds. It will take only 30 minutes for the work. The molds can be slid in along the guide and each half is fixed with two bolts. Therefore this machine could be suited to small/middle sized production for a wide variety of products.
  • Preforms are continuously rotating in the reheat ovens allocated along a round track and there is a heat equalization zone before the blow station. Two different kinds of thermal setting up can be done for raising temperature initially and conditioning preforms as a next step in the ovens. Since it has a longer reheat zone by 30 ~ 50% than competitors', it is suitable not only for PET but also for PP, PEN and etc.
  • The distance between preform mandrels widens right before the blow station and preforms go into the blow station to be blown in multiple blow molds. A complex of rotary and linear motions brings in stable production and high quality of products on each cavity.
  • Balanced drive functions, which do not create any unbalanced loading, are introduced for the blow clamping, preform charge and bottle discharge stations. These functions result in an advanced mechanism, which runs quite fast, but smoothly with low maintenance work.
  • This series does not use any hydraulics aiming at cleanness and less energy consumption. Total wattage of the driving motors is 0.8kw (excluding discharge conveyer and blowers), which is an outstanding low figure and moreover reciprocating motions of air cylinders are utilized economically to run the machines.
  • The dry cycle time is only 1.3 seconds excluding blowing time. Since a linear mechanism is introduced basically, the dry cycle is unchanged even if a certain blowing time is prolonged. Therefore the productivity becomes better than that of rotary type blow molding machines by more than 20% in case of hot fillable bottle production, which needs a longer blowing time generally.

Capability of each Model of the BIO Series

BIO-F2

Up to 3 liter sized bottles with a 2-cavity mold. The BIO-F2 is a new 2-cavity blow-molding machine. It has rotary type reheat ovens to reheat preforms continuously and has a space between the primary and secondary reheat zones for annealing preforms. The blow station introduces a linear type, which is well proven on the EFB2000 machine. It does not use any hydraulics and introduces well weight-balanced mechanism for each station enabling it to run at high speed.

BIO-F4

Up to 1 liter sized bottles with a 4-cavity mold. (Exhibiting in IPF'99.) The BIO-F4 is capable of producing 4,800 containers per hour for up to 1 liter-sized bottles with a 4-cavity mold. Preforms run through 5 reheat ovens rotating continuously with a 63.5-mm pitch, then reach the blow station. The pitch widens to 100 mm before the blow station and this pitch change device was developed especially for BIO series. This runs as a 2-cavity machine optionally. A blow mold can be changed to another in 30~50 minutes in average on the machine.

BIO-F4L

Up to 2 liter sized bottles with a 4-cavity mold. Upon receipt of demand from the beverage market, the BIO-F4L was developed to produce 2 liter square mineral water bottles with 4-cavity mold. The blow pitch widens to 140 mm instead of 100 mm which is introduced for a BIO-F4 machine. The BIO-F4L has 5 reheat ovens and each oven has 7 quartz heaters enabling a choice of broad molding parameters.

BIO-F6

Up to 0.5 liter sized bottles with a 6-cavity mold. The BIO-F6 is capable of producing 120 0.5-liter bottles per minute. This is the largest model in the BIO series specializing in production of smaller containers than 0.5 liter. Also, the BIO-F6H can be offered for hot fillable containers with capability to produce 50 to 60 0.5-liter bottles per minute. This has a similar rotary reheat system to the other BIO models and each preform has 122 seconds reheat time at the rate of 50 bottles per minute production and the time is longest when compared to other similar blow molding machines.

Process

supply1) Preform In-feed

Preforms are continuously fed from a preform unscrambler along a guide rail and separated one by one automatically, and then preforms sit on preform carriers.

heating2) Preform Heating

Preforms running through heating zones continuously rotate with preform carriers and halogen quartz heaters set at the proper temperature for blowing heat these up. During this process, remaining stress on preforms created by injection molding can be eliminated completely. Temperatures of preforms are measured with an infrared thermometer right before the blowing process, and if the temperatures are correct, blow molding starts.

blow3) Blow Molding

Hot preforms are transferred to a blow station, and then the blow mold closes and momentarily blow cores rise, stretch rod rise and air is blown into bottles. Normally 35 - 40 kg/cm2 air pressure is used and this high pressure ensures very stable production and high quality of products. After blowing, the blow mold opens and the bottle moves toward an eject station.

eject4) Bottle Discharge

Bottles transferred to the eject station come off from carriers in a discharge system and rotate 180 degrees to be discharged.

Summary

■EFB1000

The EFB1000 is a basic 1-cavity machine, which is capable of producing 1,050 one-liter bottles per hour. It is also very popular for usage in laboratories as a test machine because of its compactness and easiness of mold changeover. It takes only 15 minutes to change a blow mold to another and it is also easy to change preform carriers. The EFB1000 has a reheat oven, which has 6 quartz heaters, suitable for production of smaller sized containers. Both EFB and BIO series are very clean production machines driven by only motors and pneumatics.

EFB-1000ET ■ EFB1000ET

A very versatile machine, the EFB1000ET has an additional reheat oven on top of the EFB1000 basic machine. This is capable to produce from 5 cc up to 5 liter sized containers with a 1 cavity mold. Because of its longer reheat zone, this model is also capable of blowing not only PET but also PP and PEN containers, which require very sensitive reheat control. The EFB1000ET is very suitable to produce a wide variety of goods with small quantity as replacement of direct blow molding machines.

■ EFB1000EW

The EFB1000EW specializes in production of wide mouth jars, based on the EFB1000ET machine and is capable of producing a jar, which has a 86 mm neck finish, 220 mm diameter and 250 mm height at the maximum. As well as the other models, an LED touch panel operates the machine. Since it does not have any complex functions, anyone can operate it for production of quality containers.

■ EFB1000ES

The EFB1000ES specializes in production of small containers such as cosmetics and medical purpose with 2-cavity mold. A minimum neck finish, which the machine can handle, is 6 mm and maximum container diameter and height, which can be handled, are 40 mm and 80 mm respectively. It can also produce containers in PEN, PP, PE and etc.

EFB2000 ■ EFB2000

This is a typical 2 cavity blow-molding machine in our line for production of variety of goods in PET, PP and etc. The largest container the machine can produce is 3 liters. Preforms are rotated in the reheat ovens with a 60-mm pitch and the pitch widens to 140 mm at the blow station.

■ EFB2000L

The EFB2000L can produce larger containers up to 6 liter with 2-cavity mold. The basic function is exactly same as the EFB2000, but the blow pitch widens to 175 mm instead of 140 mm. For example, this is being used for production of distilled Japanese Sake 5-liter containers, which weigh 150 grams and of which preforms have 6.5 mm wall thickness.

■ SFBseries

These are high output machines for regular bottles, which have filling temperature less than 73 degrees C. The blow clamping uses hydraulics, but mainly the machines are driven by electricity and pneumatics. This series were approved by Coca-Cola and are suitable for production of carbonated beverage and mineral water bottles.

■ EFB20-L

The EFB20-L specializes in producing very large sized bottles in PET and PC such as 5 gallon water containers. It can process up to 9 - 10 mm thickness preform and in case of PC, regular grades can be used. In case of PET, slow crystallization material should be used for the heavy thickness preform. This is also driven with electricity and pneumatics, ensuring very clean operation.
